Have you ever wondered what types of jewelry gemologists enjoy?
Rebecca’s favorite piece of jewelry at Bowen Jewelry Company is a Sphene and Diamond Ring. Sphene is a rare collector gemstone from Madagascar. It contains titanium and has a light dispersion greater than a diamond, creating a stunning fire-like rainbow brilliance.
Becky’s primary fascination is with colored gemstones. The phenomena of gemstones such as cat’s eye alexandrite, star sapphire, the light dispersion of sphene, along with fancy colored diamonds, are her passion. Her career as a gemologist began 35 years ago in New York City. She is a Graduate Gemologist having studied with the Gemological Institute of America and is a long time member of the respected National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.
Rebecca’s knowledge of colored stones is immense and she wants everyone to know and love them as much as she does. Did you know that ancient Persians believed that the earth rested on a giant sapphire and that it’s reflection turned the sky blue? Perhaps you didn’t know that rubies are called the gemstone of courage and passion? There is so much more to a colored gemstone than you may know!
Come visit Becky to learn more about the gemstones in your collection and about those you might wish to add.
