In 1933 Charles Wesley Bowen, watchmaker, engraver, diamond setter, and designer, started his own business on Main Street, in Lynchburg. Bowen Jewelry Company's foundation for future success was built on his knowledge, service and integrity.
In 1956, Bowen's became one of the few jewelry stores in the world to show the Hope Diamond. Harry Winston had just purchased it and Brian Bowen Sr. persuaded the Winston representative to bring it to Lynchburg for the one day showing at Bowen's.
Today, a third generation jeweler, Brian Bowen, Jr. continues to keep his grandfather's original goals. Bowen's is an American Gem Society member, employs Graduate Gemologists, a certified Gemologist Appraiser and holds a license as an accredited AGS Gem Laboratory.
